Like many skippers Dave has spent the best part of his life fishing, starting as a lad of seven fishing the river banks rocks and sea shore before moving on to boat fishing in his early teens. He has been running charter boats since 2003 and now owns Capriole a fast Offshore 105. He moved from his original base of Falmouth to Penzance where over the last five years has found the fishing to be much better because there are so many different types of fishing grounds within easy reach of the port as well as access to the North Cornish Coast and the Silly Isles which are close at hand, indeed the later opens up a new and exciting prospect for 3 to 5 day trips. Dave holds a commercial licence which helps to keep a recreational sea angling charter boat going during the lean months, it also provides a way of making discarded catches a thing of the past as unwanted fish can simply go on to the market rather than go to waste.
